Carlo Martinolich (1848-1922)
Zapovjednik i vlasnik prvog parobroda FLINK izgrađenog u lošinjskim brodogradilištima.
Carlo j e1876. godine, koristeći pozajmicu svoga svekra, kupio mali jedrenjak kojim je pokrenuo posao, prevozeći vino uzduž Jadrana. Flota je rasla I 1886. izgrađen je “Flink” – prvi parobrod koji je izašao iz lošinjskih škverova. Unatoč uvjerenju da željezni brod ne može plutati, ta se odluka pokazala ispravnom, pa je flota postepeno rasla. Vlasnik broda bio je Nicolo Martinolich, a Carlo je bio samo unajmitelj broda, održavajući liniju između Trsta, Lošinja I Šibenika.. Kada je došao 1. Svjetski rat, cijelo poslovanje je zamrlo I kompanija- sadavoeđena od njegovog sina Carla, preorijentirala se je na djelatnost s nekretninama.

Using a loan from his father in law, young Carlo acquired a small sailing vessel and started business transporting wine and other along Adriatic coast. The fleet expanded and in 1886 the company buil ss “Flink” – first steel ship with steam engine built in shipyards in Losinj. Despite belief that steel can not float, this decision proved correct and the fleet gradualy became larger. Owner of the vessel was Nicolo Martinolich and Carlo’s company had it only under management, keeping regular service between Triest, Losinj and Sibenik. During WWI this business slowed and the company, now under his son Carlo turned to real estate market.
